Identification and morphological characterization of local red chilies from West Sumatra

Abstract West Sumatra still stocks local chilies, which, based on information, have good resistance to viruses. This study aims characterize the morphology of several red chilies in due exploration. The characterization refers general guidelines for compiling descriptions vegetable (chili) varieties issued by Ministry Agriculture Republic Indonesia 2021. qualitative data from results were processed using NTsys Ver.2.02 program see kinship chili. In comparison, quantitative analyzed with various values determine criteria diversity. Based grouping phylogenetic trees, at a similarity coefficient 59%, two groups obtained, namely, first group consisting Chilli Kawek Solok Selatan and Kampung second Manangah Selatan, Lotanbar Limapuluh Kota, Local Dharmasraya 1, Maninjau, Tanah Datar, Ateng Pesisir Pasaman Barat, Sijunjung, Kuhay Padang Pariaman, Akar 2. closest relationship, 94%. general, resulting exploration had narrow diversity except observation fruit length Maninjau variety.
